Overview

Milton Rents is seeking a Construction Equipment Rental Fleet Asset Manager to join our growing team. The Rental Fleet Asset Manager oversees the lifecycle and profitability of rental construction equipment. You will maximize ROI through strategic maintenance, logistics coordination, and data-driven acquisition and disposal strategies.

Pay Range: $80,000 - $115,000. This is a salaried position with bonus potential.

Responsibilities

  • Manage equipment from acquisition to disposal (remarketing) to maximize ROI during the rental life cycle and profit at the time of disposal.
  • Establish an annual fleet plan for acquisitions and disposals; update the plan periodically throughout the year.
  • Review lost rental activity and use this information to develop fleet planning.
  • Track depreciation, physical and financial utilization rates, and total cost of ownership.
  • Analyze market trends to optimize fleet mix and size.
  • Negotiate with OEMs and parts suppliers for volume pricing.
  • Analyze market trends to buy high-demand machinery and sell aging units at peak resale value.
  • Track Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Rental Rate of Return (RRR) to ensure profitability. Manages budgets, depreciation, and procurement negotiations.
  • Monitors telematics and rental data to ensure the right mix of inventory.
  • Assist the Inside and Outside Sales Representatives with customer pricing for new and used equipment sales.

Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of heavy machinery (excavators, lifts, generators).
  • Proficiency in telematics and ERP software.
  • Strong grasp of logistics and transport regulations.
  • 5+ years in heavy equipment or rental industry operations.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and excellent customer service.
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence and communicate with others both internally and externally.
  • Must be proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
