Overview

The Parts Expeditor plays a critical role in supporting shop efficiency by ensuring technicians have timely access to the correct parts, work tools, fluids, and work tools needed to complete repairs. This position is responsible for minimizing downtime, resolving parts-related issues, and maintaining organized staging and inventory systems to help technicians prioritize their time effectively.

 

Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Parts Management & Staging
    • Locate and retrieve lost or missing parts to prevent delays in repair work.
    • Stage parts for upcoming jobs in the most efficient and accessible manner.
    • Ensure parts are labeled, organized, and ready for technician use.
    • Conduct regular part kiosk clean out.
  • Inventory Tracking
    • Monitor and track bulk fluid inventory and consumption daily.
    • Coordinate with inventory control to ensure adequate stock levels of frequently used items.
    • Assist in cycle counts and inventory audits as needed.
    • Process parts warranties as needed.
  • Resource Coordination
    • Source replacement parts when items are lost, damaged, or unavailable.
    • Communicate with internal departments to expedite part deliveries.
  • Work Tool Oversight
    • Track work tools to ensure accurate visibility in all systems.
  • Policy Enforcement
    • Enforce return policies for unused or incorrect parts.
    • Ensure proper documentation and handling of returned items.
    • Aid in root cause tracking and training.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with technicians, parts counter staff, and service managers to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
    • Provide real-time updates on part status, back-orders, and availability.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Advanced PC skills with the ability to learn and teach others.
  • Energy and stamina to work extended hours and weekends, as well as work overtime as needed.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Able/willing to learn to operate material handling equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced distribution center environment.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

 

Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • Prior industry experience.
  • Past experience in automotive industry a plus.
  • Basic mechanical ability a plus.
