Overview

The Inside Product Support Sales Manager position is key in helping to drive the accountability of the PSSR – Inside Account team to be productive in selling Caterpillar parts, preventative maintenance and repairs within their designated territory. You will work with your team to develop and offer solutions that allow Caterpillar equipment owners to achieve the lowest operating costs possible and minimize machine downtime. You will also assist management in developing the strategic direction of the Product Support effort at Milton CAT.  This position is responsible for working with a team of inside sales representatives to promote all products and services offered by Milton CAT.  This position will be based out of a Milton CAT location.

 

Starting Salary Range: $85k-$100k based on experience. This is a salaried position with bonus potential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist direct reports in working with customers to achieve lower operating costs by recommending appropriate product options.
  • Work with your team and other depts. to identify existing and new opportunities within your AOR.
  • Build relationships with decision makers of key accounts and promote all available products offered by Milton CAT
  • Develop an effective working relationship with all sales, service and parts managers to ensure an exceptional level of customer service.
  • Create and maintain profiles on all major parts and service competitors.
  • Meet targets for sales, profits and close ratios.
  • Identify performance gaps in your team members and develop individual action plans to improve
  • Ensure direct reports are effectively using the CRM software.
  • Participate in business and trade events; maintain membership in trade organizations.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ experience with a heavy-duty equipment dealership in a parts or service role.
  • Ability to manage a team of representatives in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and related Microsoft software, including CRM.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding internal and external customer expectations.
  • Work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Travel throughout your defined territory with flexible working hours. This is not an 8-5 position.
  • Attend meetings which may require overnight stays.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Previous selling experience.
  • Prior territory management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Caterpillar products.
  • Previous experience in the forestry industry.
