Overview

This position will be responsible for the development and administration of the company's electrical safety program. This will include creating training content for the safety program, conducting classroom and on-line training for Power Systems and Earth Moving Technicians; developing criteria and evaluating Technician qualifications to work on various equipment; managing the inventory of specialized PPE and the vendors; assisting the Safety Department with in-store and in-field inspections; training Technicians on how to complete electrical safety JHA's/inspections; and conducting annual observations.

 

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, based on location, education and experience. This is a bonus eligible position.

 

Note: We are recruiting for one open position and have advertised this position in multiple cities within our territory.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain Training Instructor qualifications according to Caterpillar CIAP Program
  • Conduct and/or assist with Electrical Safety training classes to EPG/EM, Milton Rents, and MC2 Technicians.
  • Develop/create Electrical Safety training content/classes and curriculum, working closely with our Safety Dept.
  • Create and evaluate Technician qualifications to work on various equipment.
  • Manage electrical safety glove testing, administer safety glove requirements to specific services/tasks
  • Manage life cycle of safety equipment and Arc Flash clothing.
  • Mentor, coach and drive adoption for electrical safety
  • Administer distribution of safety equipment for new hires. Provide specific guidance & instruction to Safety team with regard to electrical safety audits

Qualifications

  • Strong electrical knowledge: with a background in Power Systems/Generator Technician experience preferred
  • Solid electrical safety and best practices focus (OSHA, NFPA70E requirements, and NEC training)
  • Comfortable with public speaking, engaging, a good personality or storyteller (Training background a plus)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products; Excel, Outlook, Word, Power Point, etc.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Strong planning and coordination skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and deal effectively with employees and management

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years experience as an EPG Technician or similar role

Travel:

  • 60% to 70% day and/or overnight travel to the various Milton CAT & Milton Rents branches within the northeast states and NY.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • This position involves often being on your feet for extended periods of time (classroom training, performing audits, on job sites, in the service shops)
  • This may include bending, climbing, kneeling, and tool manipulation
  • Occasionally moves or transports items weighing up to 40 pounds
