Pay Rate: $28.50 - $47.49/hour based on location, education and experience. This is a union position.

Responsibilities

  • Remove, disassemble, assemble, and install components and parts.
  • Identify problems and causes of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
  • Determine reusability of parts in accordance with published Caterpillar reusability guidelines.
  • Order replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at the time of order.
  • Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain engines, generators, and components.
  • Test, measure, and adjust engine and power system components.
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate engines and generators prior to completion.
  • Prepare inspection and appraisal reports.
  • Prepare accurate and complete service reports timely.
  • Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies, and systems.
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • 3 years experience on CAT engines/power systems or similar equipment
  • Ability to diagnose and repair CAT power systems equipment and components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic math skills.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds on an unassisted basis.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
  • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks.
