Overview

The Field Dispatch Supervisor is at the center of customer service and customer experience.  The Field Dispatch Supervisor will take ownership of the unscheduled service calls created by the Service Advisor.  They will effectively manage all facets of the service requests and all the requirements to maximize the efficiency of the service technician to create the most effective outcome based on the services required.  The Field Dispatch Supervisor position requires a high degree of organization and communication skills along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude while working at a fast pace.  The successful candidate will be required to work out of our Richmond, Vermont facility a minimum of two days per week.  The other three days can be spent in office at an alternate Milton Cat facility.       

Responsibilities

  • Schedule management and communication with customers for Service Requests
  • Review of service request criteria including all pre diagnosis, parts ordering and tooling needs
  • Daily coordination with Field Service Technicians with a focus on optimizing response and repair time
  • Communication between customers and technicians about job status, scope of work, etc. from schedulingto job completion
  • Oversight and management of technician time, performance and productivity, along with annual reviews
  • Manage and enforce safety policies as well as performing field-based safety audits
  • Facilitate technician support on complex jobs through the team of Technical Communicator’s
  • Extensive Travel to Milton Cat facailities. 

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. 

  • Basic understanding of engines (gas and diesel) and generators. 
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar and Competitive Products.
  • Experience in a supervisory or management position.
  • Ability to effectively lead, influence and communicate with others both internally and externally.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations. 
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment.
