Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a Power Systems Yard Coordinator. The Yard Coordinator is responsible for the general maintenance, tracking, and organization of generators and industrial attachments within the yard, as well as shipping and receiving, some assembly of generators, and industrial attachments and inventory control.

 

This position requires a proactive, problem-solving individual who is able to manage a varied workload with constantly changing priorities and extreme attention to safety.

 

Depending on the location and assignment, the Power Systems Yard Coordinator will be responsible for some or all functions and duties listed below. These repairs may require working hours in addition to the normal work schedule for emergency calls or routine service as required.

Pay Rate: Minimum starting wage of $24.76-28.77/hr. based on location and experience. This is a union position.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, load, and unload heavy equipment and attachments for customers.
  • Coordinate and track all shipping and receiving of equipment within the yard.
  • Prepare needed paperwork on all incoming and outgoing equipment.
  • Scan all incoming and outgoing equipment.
  • Inventory all sales equipment/attachments weekly.
  • Organize and inventory yard ensuring working environment is safe for both customers and employees.
  • Maintain attachment storage areas and storage building.
  • Fuel machines upon arrival.
  • Check fluid levels and test operation of equipment before loading.
  • Jumpstart dead or cold machines to load and unload.
  • Perform final inspections on machines ensuring a quality, clean, and work-ready machine is delivered.
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required. 

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent
  • Ability to drive and operate a forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, etc.
  • Knowledge of CAT vocational trucks, engines, and power generation equipment or similar equipment
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Able to lift more than 50 pounds
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Able to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment
  • Build and maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Associates degree in a related field
