Overview

Milton Rents is seeking an experienced Service and Parts Support person, responsible for providing backup for scheduling service, ordering and receiving parts, communication between the departments, support for those departments, and problem solving.  A tremendous emphasis is placed on follow-through and a positive attitude.  A successful candidate will support the software, process, and technologies being utilized throughout our service and parts department. 

 

Pay Range: $25.00- $30.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a conduit between parts and service departments.
  • Open, process, monitor and close sales orders, work orders, invoices, and purchase orders.
  • Process service department shop orders, backorders, credits, returns and quotes.
  • Confirm scheduling of work. Prepare work schedules, assign all jobs, handle and dispatch all service calls.
  • Assist in the scheduling, routing and assigning work to service technicians.
  • Order parts as required for both service shop, field service calls, and customers.
  • Look up parts via supplied computer programs for CAT and other brands we service.
  • Resolve service department parts issues or concerns as necessary.
  • Assist with incremental repair quotes.
  • Assist with preparing, organizing and maintaining large parts orders for scheduled repairs to reduce machine turnaround time.
  • Run status reports to ensure timely closing of all work orders, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Maintain confidentiality relative to pricing, promotion, distribution, inventory, customer lists and financial reports.
  • Support supervisors from all departments in timely closing of service work orders and parts orders.
  • Assure that the equipment is available as required to meet both rental and customer needs.
  • Cover absences in other positions within the Service and parts department as needed.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required. 

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, with college or trade school preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment operations and principles preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
