Overview

Milton CAT in Syracuse is seeking Service Technicians for its brand new, expanded facility in Cicero. Technicians here will enjoy union wages and benefits, state of the art tooling, heated floors, a modern breakroom plus boot and tool allowances. Technicians are responsible for the diagnosis, repair, reconditioning, overhaul and maintenance of customer and company heavy equipment and components. Initial training will take place at our current location. Depending on the location and assignment, the technician will be responsible for some or all the duties listed below.

Pay Rate: Minimum starting wage of $19.47 - $33.80/hour based on location and experience. This is a union position. The hours are 3:30pm-12:00am.

Responsibilities

  • Removes, disassembles, assembles, and installs components and parts
  • Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps
  • Clean, repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components
  • Prepare, inspect, and operate machines prior to delivery
  • Keep up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems
  • Prepares accurate inspections and completes service reports
  • Adhere to all established safety protocols and standards and utilizes appropriate PPE
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs

Qualifications

  • Heavy equipment repair experience preferred, experience with diesel equipment, engines, or automotive also a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy
  • Proficient in the use of a computer
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment with minimal supervision
  • Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the position
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates Degree or experience on CAT heavy equipment preferred
