Overview

The Milton Organization (“Milton”) Legal Department is growing and seeking a Specialist to perform a wide variety of legal, operational and compliance related responsibilities.  These responsibilities will span administrative and operational tasks in key areas such as:

  • Auto, general liability and property claims management
  • Insurance requirements
  • Vendor/Subcontractor risk management
  • Special Business Group (SBG) compliance

Responsibilities

  • Manage auto-related accidents, investigation of claims, related communication with insurance adjusters and other situations involving Milton vehicles
  • Manage accidents and other events involving Milton facilities and/or Milton personnel concerning general liability investigation of claims and related communication
  • Handle project-specific insurance requirements and documents, communication with broker, monitoring of project progress for terminating or extending insurance policies, and processing invoices for related bonds and policies
  • Support Vendor/Subcontractor relationships through general liability and worker’s compensation certificate of insurance process, contract administration and tracking of defense and indemnification agreements
  • Work with various Milton groups regarding federal, state, and local requirements concerning special-business groups (SBGs) identification and maintenance, including:
    • Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)
    • Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (W/MBEs)
    • Small Business Enterprises (SBEs)
    • Disabled Veteran Business Enterprises (DVBEs)
  • Maintain various records in support of any internal or government audits related the responsibilities outlined above

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required; additional education or certification desired
  • 2+ years experience in a legal/compliance related support position
  • Paralegal certification preferred, not required
  • Experience in and knowledge of vehicle, property and general liability claims process and risk management documentation
  • Familiarity with SBG compliance preferred, not required
  • Proficient in Word, SharePoint and Excel
  • Highly organized, with excellent follow through and attention to detail
  • Curiosity and drive to research and learn unfamiliar aspects of the role; self-motivated
