Overview

Milton CAT is seeking a Tool Room Technician to work in our Batavia location.  Tool Room Technicians are responsible for the receiving, storing, and issuing of hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, and equipment to Shop Service Technicians.

Pay Rate:   starting wage of $25.25/hour. This is a union position.

Responsibilities

  • Check in/out service tools and literature.
  • Inspect and measures tools and equipment for defects and wear, calibrate, service and repair tools.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment.
  • Maintain tool inventory and service manuals.
  • Perform basic maintenance on shop vehicles and equipment such as forklifts, hot tanks, power washer, and paint equipment.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, and requisitions stock to replenish inventory.
  • Cleaning and general maintenance of Shop area such as emptying scrap metal containers, emptying all general waste containers, running the power sweeper through the shops, and all general housekeeping duties assigned.
  • Loads/unloads equipment and parts.
  • Keeps property clean, removes snow, and grades parking lot as necessary.
  • Assists other staff as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability required.

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related software.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Strong problem solving skills and be detailed oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Able to lift more than 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations.
  • Heavy equipment service/maintenance knowledge a plus.
  • Able to work in a dynamic, fast paced service environment.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
