Milton CAT is seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to lead and support safety initiatives in its NY locations.  These locations include Clifton Park, Syracuse/Cicero, Binghamton, Batavia and Tonawanda, with potential future expansion to other upstate locations.


The Safety Specialist is a critical position that will work with every level of employee to help support, build, and maintain Milton CAT’s world class safety efforts within the organization. The focus of this position is to drive engagement with our employees by having a higher frequency of store visits, conducting store safety audits, ensure that employees are working safely and assist with safety training as needed. The position will also assist with regulatory compliance to include OSHA, MSHA, DOT & EPA requirements. The Safety Specialist will report to the Corporate Environmental, Safety and Health Manager.


  • Associates Degree in Environmental, Safety & Health or related education preferred; Or a High School Graduate with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Environmental, Safety and Health field or similar.
  • A working understanding of OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations; background in heavy equipment, power generation and warehousing a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good public speaking skills are required; must be able to conduct safety meetings and presentations
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office technology, particularly Excel, and able to quickly learn and apply new technology
  • Safe driving record and ability to travel to Milton CAT locations weekly is required (may include several overnight trips during the month)
