Prime Power Unit (PPU) Technical Engineer

Milton CAT is looking for a Prime Power Unit (PPU) Technical Engineer to join our Power Systems Defense team.  The Engineer will support the THAAD or Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system. Note: We are recruiting for one open position and have advertised this position in multiple cities within our territory.

• Troubleshoot, repair, and provide preventative maintenance service for all makes and models of generators and power generation components.
• Troubleshoot generator components including engine, alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, transfer switches, and battery systems. 
• Apply engine technical skills in inspection, disassembly, failure analysis, assembly, diagnosis, and engine performance tests
• Understand & Diagnose CDL - CAN BUS (J1939) - RS-232 - RS-485 - TCP/IP - CAT ET - Monitoring Software - CAT PLC
• Prepare and present detailed reports that include root cause, collateral impact, and corrective path forward.
• Perform and complete required paperwork at the completion of the assigned call via electronic submission
• Communicate with all equipment stake holders which includes management, customers, and support personnel in a professional manner both written and verbal.
• Responding to Emergency Service calls (as needed) both during normal & after-hour
• Travel is approximately 50% of the time

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3 years’ experience in the defense industry, particularly with Prime power unit development experience.
• Ability to understand complex technical documents and fabrication and welded assemblies.
• Must have a passport or ability to obtain a passport and have no air travel restrictions.
• Frequent domestic travel and some travel may include foreign destinations is required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must be self-motivated and team oriented, capable of managing time, flexing on priorities for multiple projects, and operating well under pressure with little supervision
• Technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present information clearly.
• Able to clearly and concisely express technical information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and senior management
• Proficient with MS Applications and able to quickly learn new technology
